We wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Happy New Year! Just when we thought 2022 would be a “normal” year, it was anything but. 2022 has been an incredible year of change, both personally and professionally for us.
The three of us have stepped up into Senior Leadership roles at QFS, and it’s been incredible to see QFS employees and advisor partners rally around our new direction. Thank you for your support, it means the world to us.
In 2022, QFS also underwent a major re-branding, returning to our roots, Feel Like FamilyTM. This is our promise to you as an advisor partnered with our MGA.
In 2023, we plan to take this even further! We remain steadfast in our commitment to independence. Our vision is to be the MGA of choice outside of the carrier/carrier-owned distribution channels. We are expanding our team so that we can continue to help advisors who want to be better, be better, whilst maintaining what makes QFS, QFS; our promise to make you Feel Like FamilyTM!

I’m thankful I get to wake up every day and do what I love with the people that I love – working in a family business with two of my siblings and my father has been a dream come true. I'm thankful for the incredible team that I get to work with every day and for our amazing advisors and business partners who have helped us reach new heights. I’m thankful for the incredible relationships I have formed with so many of you over the years. I’m thankful for my incredible wife Liz who has stood by my side since day one and has been the rock in our family. I’m thankful for my son Quinn who is turning two in March – he gave me a new perspective on life and has truly brought so much joy to Liz and I. I’m thankful for my mom and sister, Riley, who are constantly taking care of Quinn when he is home sick from daycare! I’m thankful for you for believing in me and for the support I received when we made the announcement of the transition and my new role. For all this, I am truly thankful.

Growth
This year has been one of incredible personal and professional growth for me. At the beginning of the year, I wouldn’t have expected to be in this position; leading one of Canada’s top MGA’s and ensuring thousands of independent financial advisors are supported at the highest possible level. However, I can confidently say that myself, Corey, and Haley, are up to the task. I believe in QFS and what we do, and I’m proud to be a part of this with all of you. This year, I also purchased my first home, a milestone I won't soon forget. My German Shepherd, Hunter, is enjoying Earlscourt's Dog Park nearby, and the numerous walking trails we've discovered. I've learned that with change comes growth, and I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. Thank you, all of you, for your support this year.

Busy
For the first time since having children, I am back at work full-time and my husband, Logan, was recently promoted to Vice President at his company, Salas O’Brien. My oldest daughter, Dylan, is now in grade two and has quickly gone from reading picture books to reading chapter books. I now have Dylan practicing her character voices so that she can fully take over nightly story time. My son, Jackson, turned five last month and is in his final year of kindergarten. He has fully embraced his role as a SENIOR kindergarten, and loves being one of the older kids in the class that helps with the juniors. Currently, Jackson is practicing his zipper skills so that he can be one of the “zipper helpers”. My youngest, Lennon, will be turning three in February, and she is the family daredevil. She was our first child to break a tooth and our bets are on her being the first to break a bone. To Lennon, age is just a number, and she can do anything her older siblings can do!
